This past weekend we set up shop at the first ever Abilities Expo in Boston. Held in the massive Boston Convention & Exhibition Center at Hall C, this Expo was a lot different than others we have attended. While the sales weren’t quite what we had hoped for, we met many great people and again saw firsthand how our designer carryall bags can have a tremendous impact on people living with disabilities.
Seeing the look on the faces of young girls and women who realize they are getting a stylish handbag for their mobility device are moments we cherish and we are happy to share some photos that we feel capture this unforgettable experience.
We were also happy to be able to go viral from the show and post directly to our Facebook page as events were happening. From excited customers to Auti Angel’s unbelievable dance show we captured as many pictures and videos as possible and welcome everyone to visit our page to see the great time had by all. It’s hard to witness everything at such a large show but we did our best to find the heart and soul of the people who make these events so enjoyable and gratifying.
This was the first time we were able to show off some early prototypes for possible men’s bags and we were delighted to speak to several men and get their feedback on what would make them want to use a bag for their wheelchair, power chair or mobility device. We also had the opportunity to showcase our new Demi-Premier bags, a smaller bag with straps that permanently attach to the front of the bag but are adjustable in length to accommodate different mobility devices, especially smaller ones.
And we were particularly struck by a clever husband who was able to engineer one of our bags to attach to the underside of his wife’s wheelchair so she could easily reach down and have access to her personal belongings. We see something new everywhere we go and are always amazed at the dedication and ingenuity of the people we meet at the Abilities shows.
Thanks to everyone who stopped by! Visit us on Facebook periodically for new bags being introduced, sales, etc. especially as we approach the holidays.
